Health Ministry Information
Welcome to Living Grace Lutheran's Health Ministry information page!
Health ministry is answering Christ's call to health and wholeness by caring for the psychological, physical, sociological, and spiritual needs of the congregational family and the community at large.
Our Parish Nurse, Jan Levengood, RN, BSHA, oversees the Health Ministry initiatives of the church as a health educator and counselor, referral source to community health professionals, coordinator of volunteers and support groups and the facilitator of the dynamic relationship between faith and health.
As a member of the parish staff, she has an office located in the church and is available following worship on Sunday and during scheduled hours below.

What Does Our Parish Nurse Do?
|
She serves as an advocate for members in dealing with the health care system by accompanying them to Doctor visits, when needed. |
| She brings Holy Communion to members who are shut-in, or are unable to attend worship services. |
| She supports individuals who have recently lost a loved one. |
| She coordinates seminars on exercise, nutrition, and routine screenings. |
She serves as a referral source to the local medical community. |
| She makes arrangements for elderly assistance and transportation. |
She makes hospital visits to support the spiritual, emotional, and advocacy needs of hospitalized members. |

Blood Pressure Testing: First Sunday of Every Month!
Stay after our worship service on the first Sunday of every month to see Jan for a blood pressure test, provided free to members and visitors.
